psst wanna grant?
If you need some impartial advice about marketing your business online, I cannot recommend Connecting Somerset enough. The Connecting Somerset project was started in March 2005 and is designed to aid new and existing businesses in the areas of broadband, IT, the Internet, website development, e-commerce and e-business. It achieves this through a range of FREE (yes I did say FREE) activities including:
- ~ Offering free advisory service to businesses on broadband, IT, the Internet, website development and e-commerce, e-business and training.
- ~ Matching suppliers to businesses online needs.
- ~ Providing grants to aid the purchase or development of broadband, websites, e-commerce and e-business.
Grants are currently available for the following postcodes
TA4 4 (part) TA5 1 (part)
TA23 0 (part) TA24 6 (part)
TA24 7 TA24 8 (part)
TA24 5
Grants are also available for tourism businesses - any tourism related business is eligible. The only requirement is that the business attends a Visit Somerset seminar. Please contact Jemma Read, Project Assistant, Visit Somerset on 01823 355036 or email JRead@somerset.gov.uk for further details.
Connecting Somerset provide fantastic support to businesses so if you have any questions at all about any of the above topics give them a call. If they don’t know the answer they will know a woman or man who does. Who knows you may even get a grant!
